New construction
Roofing set into your build schedule
The roof goes on between framing inspection and the trades that follow it, so the order matters.
We schedule against your release, not around it. The first lot of a new plan gets a walk with your super; later lots repeat what was agreed there.
Material counted against the takeoff when it lands
Underlayment on the same day the crew goes up
Flashing at chimneys, walls and vents as each appears
Closeout photos for every slope

Layer by layer
What goes on the roof, in order
- 01
Ice and water barrier
At eaves and valleys, where meltwater backs up and wind-driven rain gets under shingles.
- 02
Underlayment
Rolled across the whole deck so the house is dried in the day the crew goes up.
- 03
Drip edge and starter
Metal along the eaves and rakes, then a starter course that seals the first row.
- 04
Field shingles
Laid to the manufacturer's nailing pattern and your spec, one slope at a time.
- 05
Flashing and penetrations
Step flashing at walls, boots at pipes, and curbs at skylights, set as they appear.
- 06
Ridge, vents and cleanup
Ridge cap and vents to the plan's count, then a magnet sweep of the lot.
Questions on the install
Do you install the ventilation on the plan?
Yes. We set the number of vents on your plan. If the plan's net free area looks short of what the code asks for, we tell your super before the roof goes on.
Can you roof in cold weather?
Yes, with limits. Shingles don't seal well in the cold, so below 40°F we hand-seal where needed or hold the lot, and we tell your super which.
Do you work from the builder's shingle spec?
Yes. We install the product and color on your spec and register the manufacturer's warranty the way your contract says.
Who cleans up?
We do, before the crew leaves the lot: debris out, and a magnet sweep for nails along the driveway and lawn edge.
Have a release ready?
Send the plan set and the start window. A bid follows from preconstruction.
